February 2024

February begins with the Celtic holiday-Imbolc or Brigid’s day on 2/2/24-Sun square Moon-half Moon in Scorpio/Brigid/Mercury sextile Neptune

The third quarter waning moon in Scorpio emphasizes Brigid’s day (aka Imbolc) with an emphasis on deep authenticity and ruthless honesty. Brigid, the Celtic goddess of fire, awakens the spark of life within us as we slowly emerge from the dark cave of winter. The Imbolc season is a time to honor Brigid’s spirit, celebrating the growing light with flowers, feasting and poetry. We are once again born to the world and initiated into the cycle of life. Like green buds growing from the soil, the fertility of springtime fills us with new possibilities and energy.

Aquarius, the visionary sign of the truthteller, is the astrological guardian of this time. The water bearer awakens our need for community and returns our attention to the big picture. As we move away from Capricorn’s focus on survival and progress, Aquarius reminds us that we are all in this together and encourages us to work collectively for solutions.

The Sun in Aquarius squares the Scorpio Moon, energizing our reflection on the cycle that came to awareness at the Full Moon in Leo on 1/25. Mercury in practical Capricorn sextiles Neptune in Pisces, bringing messages from our deepest self into the “real world”. Practical use of our imagination is heightened, dreaming our dreams awake with inspiration and a strategic eye to the future.

2/4/24-Mercury enters Aquarius/Mercury Conjunct Pluto

The cosmic traveler in the sign of the water bearer brings a unique, quirky perspective to our awareness. Innovative thinking and an experimental mindset are all the rage as Mercury hangs out in Aquarius until February 22nd. When Mercury joins up with Pluto tomorrow 2/5, there is an opportunity to dive to the bottom of Aquarius themes, exploring the shadow side, treasure hunting in the depths using unusual, visionary tools.

2/8/24-Sun square Uranus

Feeling Contrary? The Sun in Aquarius squares a newly direct Uranus in Taurus today showering sparks of light on any patterns already going through a rapid change process. Uranus is the modern ruler of Aquarius and this planet of all things strange has been hanging out in Taurus since 2018. Changing our relationship with food (notice the rise in the popularity of veganism?), money (crypto currency anyone?), our bodies (somatic healing has been in the spotlight) and values, Uranus in Taurus has been a wild ride. As the Sun in Uranus ruled Aquarius square Uranus in Taurus-we may experience a contrarian impulse to instigate a change of all the changes.

Anything goes with this kind of planetary meet up-so be prepared for the unexpected, the weird and the wacky.

2/9/24-New Moon 20 degrees of Aquarius

The New Moon in Aquarius initiates a time of rapid change, bridging yesterday’s Sun/Uranus square and creating a spine tingling, rabble rousing, collective doorway into the future.

Fierce individuality duals with rapidly shifting realities, as the Sun and Moon in Aquarius square Uranus in Taurus.

As this lunar cycle unfolds over the next month it will be necessary to establish a deep anchor to our corporeal bodies, allowing change, while remaining rooted in the earth.

2/10/24-Mercury square Jupiter

Our perception of the future clashes with our comfort zone today as Mercury in Aquarius squares Jupiter in Taurus.iffeel bigger than your stomach, be aware of what you envision and question yourself: how much do you really want to expand?

2/12/24-Mars enters Aquarius/Mars Conjunct Pluto

Aquarius has a profound relationship with the cosmos. Like the planets and stars, Aquarius thrives when connected to a community of equals, holding space with unique authenticity, but united in purpose and foresight. As Mars moves into Aquarius on 2/12/24 and joins with Pluto in Aquarius, we are driven to act on an intensification of our collective vision.

2/16/24-Venus enters Aquarius

Weird love is in as Venus cycles through Aquarius. This is a good time to value your friendships and community. You may feel the need to have more space and freedom in relationships or just break some rules.

2/17/24-Venus Conjunct Pluto

When Venus in Aquarius meets up with Pluto in Aquarius we are invited to consider the nature of power in love and how this relates to freedom and authenticity. How free can you be in your relationships? How authentic and true to yourself? Changes may be in order as you come to recognize that you want to express your own uniqueness more fully in the ways that you give and receive love.

 2/18/24-Sun enters Pisces

Welcome to Pisces Season and a Pisces New Moon 2/19/23 at 11:06 pm PST

Pisces is the last sign in the sacred wheel of 12 celestial archetypes. As the last sign, Pisces serves as a cosmic vessel, like a cauldron holding the dream of life, flavored by the ingredients of dreams, magic, imagination, spirit and compassion. Pisces has the ability to open the doors to alternative perceptions of reality, step through portals and enter completely different realms. Pisces is the embodiment of mystery: tantalizing, magnetic, otherworldly and hard to grasp.

But like every other sign, Pisces too has its pitfalls: delusion, addiction, madness, victimization, suffering and loss.

As the Pisces influence grows stronger from March 3-20 (with the Sun, Mercury and Neptune in Pisces) we are offered an opportunity to swim with the mystery, align our energies with the cosmic flow, open up to nudges from spirit and say YES whenever possible to the magical experience of being alive. Healing happens with Pisces when we connect to the divine, IN WHATEVER FORM.

2/22/24-Mercury enters Pisces

Dream all of your dreamy dreams as Mercury joins the Sun and Neptune in Pisces. The messenger planet in the sign of the fish has much inspiration, intuition and insight to share during the next few weeks. Drop into your unconscious mind and cultivate receptivity. This is a great cycle to start and dream journal and track both your night and waking dreams.

2/24/24-Full Moon in Virgo at 5 degrees

With the Moon in Virgo, we are interested in the details of life, the mundane, the practical. Our bodies, our health, and all the little errands that once completed, will make our lives run just a little bit more smoothly. How do we organize, analyze and digest (remember Virgo rules digestion) our lives?

We are also invited to explore the concept of service-who or what do we serve? We may experience the desire to serve as a sacred act.

This lunation asks: What form of service awakens the divine in you?

The Sun in Pisces helps to answer the divine part of this question. Pisces brings us closer to god/dess, encouraging us to let go of all that stands in the way of our connection to what is holy and sacred.

How do you find the magical in the mundane? The holy in the humble?

As this lunation lights up the sky, notice what other questions and answers arise for you around Virgo and Pisces themes. Observe if you feel called in a new direction or are guided to dive deeper into a realm where you are already rooted.

2/28/24-Sun and Mercury conjunct Saturn in Pisces

As the Sun and Mercury meet up with Saturn in Pisces the dream gets real. The Sun and Mercury both amplify and clear the pathway for communication of a sometimes murky Piscean experience. On this day a form and structure for our magic begins to emerge. Clarity can be found in the depths of our unconscious and mystical minds.  If you are having your Saturn Return in Pisces this year asks you to commit to your imagination, clarify your dreams, create the impossible and get serious about your relationship to the divine.Saturn in Pisces return folks were born between January 29, 1994-April 7, 1996.
